When I went to college, i met a new friend from NYC, who did not realize that Kalamazoo was a real city until she went to college in MI. She and her friends used to say, "Go to Kalamazoo." in the same sense as "Go to Timbuktu."---take off, or go get lost in the boonies.
Heh, I will be near there next week. I'm going to visit blackthorn45 and thepinkcupcake, who both live in that general area. I don't know if they still do it, but the town planners used to plant pink petunias all along the main road in and out of town. "The road to Hell is lined with pink petunias."
