Quite, quite unbelievable

http://www.newsrealblog.com/2010/07/05/wonder-woman-the-non-american-how-soon-will-she-be-wearing-a-burqa/

I take that all-American values include prick-teasing, lesbianism, BDSM, and bigamy? (Moulton, the creator of Wonder Woman, convinced two women to live with him permanently. He was a psychologist, God forgive him. At any rate, CG Jung had done the same thing earlier - selfish practitioners of psychology will sooner or later find people they can fit to their designs.) Wonder Woman as a character stinks on ice and always has, and as for suggesting that this skintight fuck-me outfit is the next step to a burqa, these people need glasses, that's all.

I tried reading those comments, but then my brain turned wrongside out. Partly becasue--Wonder Woman was an Amazon or something, right? And last I checked, the Amazon runs through like, Brazil. And possibly Ecuador. And parts of Peru.

Um. This is one of those things where logic will only get me hurt, isn't it. I'll leave it alone.

But pssst, hey DC. The 80's called, and they want their Members Only jacket back.

WOW! I didn't think there could be anything stupider than comparing changing her outfit to the insidious promotion of the New World Order, but I think you found something. *eye roll*

Personally I think the new design is tacky and makes her look like a modern mall rat/immature teenager, so I oppose it on those grounds, though the idea of a redesign I'm fine. Just wish they'd done a better job. Marvel did IMHO a swell job with Steve, and I think that would have been harder.

Speaking of, I'm highly amused that her redesign and the loss of overt Americanism in her costume is casuing more of a stir than Steve's redesign. I guess cause he's still in red, white and blue with some stars, but still it's kinda funny. If I were gonna make lunatic comparisons to comic character pushing the NWO or some such I'd have gone for Steve going from Captain America to .... world wide police cheif or whatever he is now.

WW is what my contemporaries dressed like while our friends were Batman and Spiderman. Lipstick made the lack of a cool mask bearable. The new look is bearable, if dated as much as the 'old'look.
